The common theory that roams society suggests setting “S.M.A.R.T. Goals.” (Specific Measurable Attainable Realistic Timely) These are definitely important… but what about setting unrealistic goals and going after them with your full effort, just like you would any other goal. What do you think the outcome would be? Do you think you would achieve it? In essence unrealistic goals are the big dreams we all have, and due to society’s social conditioning, have dubbed them “impossible” which causes us to never go after with firm action.

A very common theme these days is to say something along the lines of: “I want this…” then following up with a time-frame. I will use an example I see all the time during the goal-setting portion of Kingpin Social Programs. Students typically will say: “I want to be good with women… in six months.” Now of course you need to define “good with women”, so the goal is measurable (ie:you know when you have achieved it.)
